Almost all Western countries exceed the WHO recommended dose of 50 grams of sugar a day. In India, people seem to have the lowest daily sugar consumption in the world: about 45 grams below WHO suggestions.

Surprisingly, fat consumption is not as big of an issue. The average fat consumption in the U.S. is only 0.5 grams above the recommended intake of 65 grams. Belgium, Germany, Finland, The Netherlands and Sweden have the highest fat excess in the world. The reason could be attributed to the cold temperatures, or possibly, the exceptionally good Belgian french fries.
